The L.A.Textiles show is happening now here in Los Angeles.  As a first time attendee and still feeling like a tourist than a resident, I was there on the first day during its first hour of opening.

I arrived there early in order to attend one of their many seminars offered during the next three days.  I went to: "How to sell your line to buyers & retailers." The seminar was informative and great for those starting out.  For me, it was mainly a reminder to keep doing what I'm doing.

The actual show was A LOT bigger than I had anticipated.  Some of the vendors that I visited were Solstiss, Exotic Silks, Pizval, and California Label.  It was definitely not representative of the LA fashion district's jobber stores, which I was so pleased to see.  Although I was not looking for anything in particular, it definitely gave me more options of what I can do out here in LA.

Additionally as an attendee, you will receive a booklet with all the participating vendor's contact information.  So anytime in the future when I am ready, I can contact the vendors to inquire about specific fabrics.  And at the lobby, there is a table with all the latest local newspapers and magazines pertaining to the fashion industry, complimentary to visitors.

I definitely recommend attending this show.

Sincerely,

Sumie Tachibana
